Hotel of Modern Art

The Hotel of Modern Art (HOMA) is located within the Yuzi Paradise sculpture park. That makes it remote from other sites and so the only reason for staying here is to have more opportunity to appreciate the artwork.

Facilities

HOMA is rated as a 5 star hotel and has pretty much everything you will need for a comfortable stay. Rooms are spacious if a little wacky.  The theme is 'cave' - but probably the most luxurious cave you will ever get to stay in.

The most interesting facility for many will be the sculpture park in the surroundings. You are free to wander or cycle around at your leisure.

There is a swimming pool but this is only open during the summer season.

Services

Staff are highly trained and offer a top level of service. Few foreigners stay at HOMA though and so staff do not necessarily understand requests in English. That is OK if you are with a tour group (the leader can sort such things for you) but this can be frustrating if you are on your own. Keep your language simple.

The hotel offers a full range of travel services, including visits to sites in Guilin and Yangshuo. These can be pricey so you would be better off staying in these locations as appropriate.

Location

As stated in the summary above, HOMA is located inside the Yuzi Paradise sculpture park. This is about 30 kilometres from downtown Guilin and about 45 kilometres from Yangshuo.

The only real transport possibility is taxi and these can be difficult and expensive to organise on your own.

The location offers wonderful views of the surrounding karst scenery as well as the artwoks within the site.
